Solo Fotamecus Empowerment Rite
by
To empower Fotamecus and declare yourself his ally.
- a rock and drum (both small and easily carried)
- a small clock of any variety, or a sigil representing a clock may be used.
You enter the working area, carrying the drum in the dominant hand/under the arm, the rock in the off hand/under the arm, and the clock in a pocket. No other timepieces should be present.
Slowly lowering to your knees, objects in hand, place the rock on the ground somewhere within sight, place the drum on the ground by your side (under the dominant hand), place the clock by your side opposite the drum (under the off hand).
Extend the forefinger of the dominant hand, drawing the fotamecus sigil - while charging it with the intent: " Fotamecus, witness this rite". Keep the sigil floating about the working area for the duration of the rite.
Cover the clock, against the ground, with the off hand and begin to beat the drum with the dominant hand- slow and steady, like a calm heartbeat.
With the clock still covered lower your head and close your eyes. Take a moment to focus on your preconsieved notions of time, fixed and flexible, the drum and the clock, Fotamecus and Chronos.
Bringing your full attention to the clock, focus on it, how does it make you feel? Disgust? Rage? Hatred? Let these feelings turn towards the death of this device, you want it dead, you want it gone.
Still continuing the beat, take hold of the clock with the free hand and raise it to Fotamecus, simultaneously altering the drumbeat to a faster more exicited pace. Open your eyes and look to Fotamecus with thoughts of the clock's imminent death in mind. This is something that he understands, for as long as this clock remains, the ways of Fotamecus are in question. Return the clock to it's previous postion by your side.
Knowing the clock's death is near, close your eyes and send Fotamecus another boost of energy along with the intent: " Fotamecus, let this sacrifice empower you", you may say it if it so pleases you.
Continuing the quick and steady "excited" pace, take hold of the rock (with the off hand), raise it up, and...
Smash the clock , drop the drumbeat back to a normal slow and steady "calm" pace. Return the rock to it's previous position on the ground.
Gather up the pieces of the fallen clock with the free hand. Take a moment to examine it, ensure it's death, if it yet lives bring the drumbeat back to an excited state and follow with repeated smashing.
With a smile on your face, present the corpse to Fotamecus. Place said corpse on top of the rock and dig a small hole with the off hand. Drop the corpse in the hole, rebury it, and place the rock on top.
Cease to beat the drum and bow to Fotamecus. Stand up, grab the drum and leave the working area laughing maniacally. The laughter isn't intended as a banishment, more as an insult to Chronos and it helps to confer the idea that the right thing has been done.
Objective:
To empower Fotamecus by attracting new believers to his cause.
Notes:
This working came to me one night, I had some balloons floating about and I wanted to reafirm the friendly relationship Fotamecus and I share. Unlike most other Fotamecus related workings, this one doesn't actually involve any time manipulation Instead it works to show Fotamecus to the world and to enlighten new minds to his ways. I find it helpful to think of the balloon as a seed on the wind, off to grow in new lands.
- A small piece of paper, able to be carried by the ballon
- A hellium balloon of any fashion
Take hold of your balloon and tie the ribbon to it, if this has not already been done.
Draw the sigil of Fotamecus on the balloon, charging it with the intent: " Fotamecus, guide this seed to fertile ground". Fotamecus is pretty smart, he'll know what your talking about. Allow the balloon to float free around the room for a moment, if outside, temporarally attach it to a rock or something.
Take your small piece of paper and write out a small "panflet" relating to Fotamecus. Include his sigil, the pronounciation of his name, a little backstory, and the method for spawning new copies -try to make it as easy to understand as possible.- Neatly fold your paper down to it's smallest size. Tie it to the balloon's ribbon.
Take the "seed" outside and cast it to the winds. Visualize the Fotamecus sigil looming over the seed, guiding it as it floats off.
