The Ouranian Way
Katara's entry into the AX

I lit my candle and my incense, wore my black robe (both for helping to put myself into the right frame of mind and because my sanctuary room gets cold) and two pieces of jewelry with the chaos star. I began at 5:00 and did the Ouranian Cross, which I adapted from the Ouranian LBRP, as follows.

Touch the forehead, or point up, and intone
UJAI ("aether")
while
visualizing a shaft of light from the heart chakra to the sky;

Touch the genitals, or point down, and intone
CHABOSEF ("matter")
while

visualizing a shaft of light from the heart chakra to the ground;

Extend right arm out to the right and intone
DINTHOQAF ("power")
while

visualizing light going out along the arm to the right;

Extend the left arm out to the left and intone
PNELIEM ("wisdom")
while

visualizing light going out along the arm to the left;

Cross both arms across your chest in the god position and intone
BORVEMAX ("self-love")
while visualizing the light contracting into the
heart chakra

Point both hands down and then move arms sideways and up over the head in a sweeping motion while intoning
BOUFRHELEET ULAV ("connection to the
infinite")
while visualizing the light exploding out in all directions.

"From order comes chaos
From chaos comes order

In a never-ending spiral of change."
Bring both hands in front of your heart, left hand palm up and right hand palm down, palms touching (sort of a yin/yang formation) and intone
SYCUZ ("it is done")

I then started the music for my meditation (Berlioz’ Symphony Fantastique) and lay on the floor to begin my meditation. I used my rosary cross to count off "I am Air" ten times, “I am Fire” ten times, “I am Water” ten times, “I am Earth” ten times, “I am Spirit” ten times, then “I am the Universe” seven times (once for each planet bead) but continuing until it seemed right to stop. I saw myself floating in space, getting small enough to see between the parts of the atom, into quantum space. A line from the Tao Te Ching, which I just re-read, came to me. "So the profit in what is is in the use of what isn't." Some time in here my husband came back in the house and he'd obviously forgotten I
was going to be doing this because I heard him call my name. I ignored it, although the phrase "profound absurdity" came to me -- the problem with trying to connect to anything non-material when you have to live with material, I guess. I managed to reconnect to the space. I realized that I am actually not one mass connected to the rest of the universe, I am actually in multiple places at the same time. Imagine a connect the dots picture and all the background is dots as well. I am a dot here, a
dot there, connected below and above and through other dots. The dots that make up "me" change and the pattern can be added to and subtracted from. This is why our minds work in so many layers, why it is so hard to have all the parts of your brain concentrate on one thing at a time. It's also why it is so powerful when you do focus like that. My pattern is just one of the patterns in the Great Web. I then had an image of the Great Web (giant spiderweb with stars behind it) and a bunch of other symbols (yin/yang, pentagram, Autonomatrix symbol, phoenix). They all seem like anchors/access points to the Web.

At this point the images seemed to grind to a halt and I came back up from the meditation. I got up and turned off the music. I then said the following declaration piece:

“At the center, I am I, a unique combination of experiences, thoughts and feelings, unbound by rules or limitations, powerful and in control of my own universe, yet connected by the Great Web to all that is, was, or will be. It is through that connection that I can effect change.

I am an Axion.”

And then I heard "You are an Axian now too" and laughter. I banished with more laughter and drank a bit of Bailey's Irish Creme to celebrate and top off the events.
